For the convenience of Rockland County women, the Suffern’s Women’s Wellness Group has opened a center in Airmont, offering internal medicine, nutrition counseling, breast-feeding counseling, and life coaching. Monica Peacocke, M.D., lactation consultant Cheryl Martin, M.A., CBC, and nutritionist Samantha LeGault, M.S., DTR, run the wellness center.

Dr. Peacocke specializes in internal medicine for women. She treats girls and women of all ages with issues such as allergies, skin disorders, thyroid problems, menopause, and contraception. Martin helps new mothers start and finish the breast-feeding process. In addition, Martin works as a life coach helping both men and women who come to the center and are confused about their path of life. LeGault offers nutritional counseling to men and women who are overweight, have food allergies, or are just looking to switch to a healthier lifestyle. She meets with her clients to find out what they would like to work on or change, and gives them food ideas to put them on the path to a healthier life.

“Our goal is to create a place where both men and women can come and feel safe if they need help,” LeGault says. “We want to provide each individual with a unique health and wellness plan.”

The Suffern’s Women’s Wellness Group is open Monday through Friday from 9pm-5pm and every other Saturday morning for the women who cannot come during the week. Walk-ins for nutrition and breastfeeding consultation are welcome.
