Lower Hudson Valley Christmas Lights: 17 Places to See Dazzling Holiday Light Displays

Wow your kids by taking them to see some of the best Christmas lights in Rockland County, Westchester Count, and more this holiday season.

Whether you’re checking out your next door neighbor's display or making the trek out to Bethel Woods Christmas lights, there are plenty of dazzling Hudson Valley Christmas lights displays to see this year. With everything our society has been through over the last 2 years, one thing is for sure this winter: We’re all in need of a little Christmas magic. Luckily, Christmas-light displays are an easy and exciting way to get into the holiday spirit, especially in the New York area. Here’s where you can see the best Christmas lights in Rockland County and nearby.

Christmas Lights in Rockland County

1. Holiday Lights

Veterans Park, corner of Main and Cedar Streets, Nyack
Come out to see holiday lights and a tree lighting on  Dec. 12 at 5pm. The event takes place during Nyack’s Holiday Promenade during the day, 11am-6pm. 

Westchester Christmas Lights

1. Keeler Christmas Light Display

16 Luigi Road, Putnam Valley
Visit this holiday light display in Westchester, which the Keeler family spends three months creating for the community to enjoy. Check the Facebook page for more information. 

2. Westchester Winter Wonderland

Kensico Dam Plaza, 1 Bronx River Parkway, Valhalla
Westchester’s Winter Wonderland is a 1.2-mile drive-thru experience filled with thousands of lights. Festive holiday music gets pumped straight into your vehicle’s radio as you drive the trail enjoying attractions such as elves, glittering angels, dancing trees, and much more. Through Jan. 2, 2022: starting at 6pm Monday-Friday, 5pm Saturday-Sunday. Tickets start at $25.  

3. Lights on Jenkins Court

12 Jenkins Court, Ossining
Enjoy this sparkling holiday light show in Westchester while listening to holiday tunes on 90.5 FM on your car radio. Through Jan. 6, 2022: daily, 4:30-9pm.

4. LUMAGICA at Harvest Moon

130 Hardscrabble Road, North Salem
Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard has partnered with LUMAGICA, known for making light installations throughout Europe. Visitors will experience a walking tour through a forest full of animal structures and festive decorations, all illuminated by hundreds of thousands of LED lights. Tickets available Friday-Sunday through Dec. 12; then daily Dec. 17-23 and Dec. 26-30. Check the website for prices.

5. Illuminations at American Christmas

30 Warren Place, Mount Vernon
American Christmas, creators of holiday light displays in New York City, brings you illuminations at its Mount Vernon showroom. Stay warm as you take selfies with 15-foot-tall reindeer and walk through a maze of beautiful lights and animatronics. A family-friendly indoor experience. Proceeds benefit the efforts of United Way of Westchester and Putnam. Through Dec. 23: See the website for a schedule. Tickets are $5. 

6. Grand Illumination

945 North Broadway, Yonkers
Wander through the Walled Garden, which will be lit up by 100,000 lights. Enjoy multicultural seasonal music and warm up with free hot cocoa. Opening night is Friday, Dec. 10 at 5:30pm. Admission is free every night, Dec. 11-Jan. 2, 2022, 4:30-8pm. 

Christmas Lights in Dutchess County

1. ERDAJT Holiday Light Display

8 Patrick Drive, LaGrangeville
The ERDAJT Holiday Light Display has been featured in the Guiness Book of World Records as well as on dozens of news broadcasts.

2. Kevin McCurdy’s Holiday Spirit Festival

38 Sheafe Road, Wappingers Falls
A Hudson Valley tradition. Open by reservation only through Dec. 26: Friday, 6-9pm; Saturday, 4:30-9pm; and Sunday, 4:30-8:30pm. Check the website for prices. 

Christmas Lights in Orange County

1. Watt Christmas Wonderland

310 Scotchtown Road, Goshen

Drive through hundreds of Christmas lights, inflatables, and more. Through Dec. 30: daily, 6-9pm. $5 donation per vehicle. 

2. Bruschi Christmas

5 Madre DeCristo, Wallkill

This light display boasts more than 25,000 lights set to music to bring Christmas joy to all visitors. Through Jan. 1, 2022: daily, 5-11pm. 

Christmas Lights in Sullivan County

1. Bethel Woods Christmas Lights: Peace Love & Lights

200 Hurd Road, Bethel

Though a bit further away, the drive-thru holiday light show in the Sullivan Catskills is worth the trip. Drive 1.7 miles of illuminated lights and stop by the Holiday Hub for seasonal refreshments. Through Jan. 2, 2022: Sunday-Thursday, 5-9pm; Friday-Saturday, 5-10pm. Check the website for prices. 

Christmas Lights in Ulster County

1. A Frosty Fest

778 Broadway, Ulster Park

Start your illuminated adventure with a drive-through experience through  an animated musical light show. Then, come inside to visit with Santa, enjoy seasonal treats, and take lots of fun photos. Through Dec. 19: Friday, 6pm; Saturday-Sunday, 4:30pm. Tickets are $22.90; $18.90 children younger than 12. Kids ages 2 and younger are free.

Christmas Lights in NJ

1. Orchard of Lights

Demarest Farms, 244 Wierimus Road, Hillsdale

Drive through a guided tour of 32 acres of brilliant holiday light displays. Enjoy hot cocoa in the retail farm market, take pictures with Santa, make s’mores, and more. Through Dec. 29. Check the website for a complete schedule and prices. 

2. Skylands Stadium Light Show & Christmas Village

94 Championship Place, Augusta

This mile-long drive-thru holiday light experience features more than 2 million sparkling lights. After your drive-thru adventure, stop by the Christmas Village to ride the Ferris wheel and carousel, go ice-skating, meet Santa and enjoy seasonal food and drinks. Through Jan. 9, 2022 on select days; visit the website for a complete schedule and ticket information.

3. Martorana Christmas House

396 Fairfield Road, Wayne
Stop by this decorated house in Wayne, NJ, to see a crowd of festive inflatables starring Santa, reindeer, and many other holiday characters (8am-12pm) and enjoy holiday lights (4pm-12am) throughout the holiday season. 

4. Six Flags Great Adventure’s Holiday In The Park Drive-Thru Experience

1 Six Flags Blvd., Jackson
Enjoy glittering lights, festive snacks, and take a spin on your favorite rides at Six Flags Great Adventure’s Holiday in the Park. Through Jan. 2, 2022. Check the website for a complete schedule and prices.
