GenerationOn Kicks Off Two Volunteer Campaigns for Holidays

GenerationOn, which aims to inspire and mobilize a nationwide network of youth volunteers, recently launched two campaigns to get families to volunteer this holiday season: The Joy Maker Challenge and Family Volunteer Day.

With its mission to inspire, equip, and mobilize a nationwide network of kid and teen volunteers, generationOn is kicking off its two signature campaigns to provide youth, families, and schools with easy and meaningful ways to give back to their communities this holiday season. The campaigns—The Joy Maker Challenge and Family Volunteer Day—offer welcome respites from the end-of-year crush of social, work, and school obligations while enabling participants to contribute to and connect with the true spirit of the season.

The Joy Maker Challenge: Entering their fifth year of partnership, generationOn and Hasbro are bringing holiday joy to families in need with The Joy Maker Challenge, a youth service campaign that runs Nov. 10-Dec. 10. The Joy Maker Challenge connects students in grades K-12 to meaningful, hands-on service projects during the holiday season. For each act of service completed, Hasbro will donate a toy or game to Toys for Tots, up to one million dollars.

Participating youth are then encouraged to share their story to inspire others and also be entered to win a number of prizes. Twenty schools will receive a $250 grant to support continued volunteer service in their communities. One grand prize-winning school will receive a $1,000 grant to support continued volunteer service, a special holiday party package, and $10,000 worth of toys and games, which can be used to bring joy to kids in need in their own community.
