Therapist Gayle Sturmer, LCSW-R, Expands Practice in Nyack

Therapist Gayle Sturmer, LCSW-R, now has full-time availability at her Nyack office, which expanded from a part-time location in March. Sturmer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, certified Rapid Resolution Therapist™, and trained in many other methods, applying whichever is best suited to the situation. She has more than 25 years of experience working with children (ages 5 and older), adolescents, and adults. Sturmer opened her Nyack location in September 2016.

"I wanted to expand my practice over here because, although Nyack and some other towns in Rockland have many therapists, there aren't many who see both adults and children," Sturmer says. "It’s a great community and people are really responsive to someone new and some different kinds of treatments. It’s really nice to be here.”

Sturmer has a post-graduate degree in child and adolescent therapy from Fordham University. She helps children and adults through trauma, anxiety, grief, phobias, social problems, and more. Sturmer also collaborates with schools and other professionals.

"I’m trained in a lot of innovative treatments," Sturmer says. "Additionally, I stay current with new science that comes out about the brain and train in any new methods of treatment that I believe can provide quick, effective, and painless resolution. Typically my treatment is short-term and very effective—and fun."

Sturmer also maintains an office in Tarrytown.
