Steam Works Studio Opens Location in Scarsdale

The STEAM enrichment center will offer extended programming to Westchester families.

Steam Works has a number of locations across the United States including New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, and is now celebrating its first brick-and-mortar location in New York. After establishing after-school programs at local schools, Steam Works Studio is thrilled to finally offer Westchester families extended programming in its own location. Among these programs is a summer camp, which started the first week of July and carries on through August.

The camp will have half- and full-day options, as well as the opportunity to customize the experience. The camp will focus on new themes each week including coding, robotics, electronics, biology, and arts for children ages prekindergarten-sixth grade. Enrollment is flexible and held on a rolling basis.

“Our curriculum involves a lot of hands-on, interactive activities whether it’s writing code, building robots using our Lego kits, creating circuits using basic electronics components, and learning by doing and just having fun along the way,” says Ken Takatomi, director of Steam Works Studios.

In addition to the summer camp, Steam Works is now able to offer STEAM-themed birthday parties with activities such as LEGO robotics and circuits-based projects. The parties are 2 hours long with 1.5 hours of an activity, like building a robot, and 30 minutes of food and cake.

Steam Works Studio hours are by appointment only with a more set schedule of hours slated for later this year. For more information visit the Steam Works Studio Westchester website.
