5 Places You Should Not Let Your Kids Play Pokémon Go in NYC

It has recently been reported that people are playing Pokémon Go at sacred places like the Holocaust Museum. USA Today reports, "Officials at the Holocaust Museum and Poland's Auschwitz Memorial are calling on Pokémon Go maker Niantic to take their sites off the locations where players can hunt cartoon creatures in the popular augmented reality app, saying it dishonors Holocaust victims." 

Looks like some people are in serious need of a reality check and perhaps a friendly reminder of places where it is absolutely inappropriate to play this addicting game. 

Here are 5 places in New York City where you should definitely stop looking for Pikachu:

1. The 9/11 Memorial

This memorial is representative of New York City's most tragic day. If you are there, it should be to pay respect and to reflect on the lives lost, not to collect Pokémon. Take a moment to put the phones away, there will be plenty of time to search for virtual creatures after this important visit.

2. Subway platforms

This should seem pretty obvious since the point of Pokémon Go is to move around, but the subway platform is definitely a dangerous spot to play the game. Kids should be alert, looking for arriving trains, and definitely not running around.
