Hudson Valley Ski Resort Launches its 80th Season with New Feature and Festivities

Mt. Peter Ski is celebrating 80 years of snowy fun with a new tubing feature and a party for the whole family.

New York State’s longest running ski facility, kicked off the season’s festivities with the opening of its snow tubing run. Complete with a carpeted lift to the top, snow enthusiasts can glide down a 600-foot hill in Mt. Peter’s expertly made and groomed snow.

“You can take a wild, fun ride down!” Says Carol Forshay, Mt. Peter Ski Area’s marketing director.

In addition, Mt. Peter’s is offering 80 days of giveaways leading up to their anniversary celebration on Saturday, Feb. 20. The free event will include a live band and a fireworks display among other activities. Most of the activities will begin around noon, Forshay said, but the most current information on party details is listed on their website.

Those interested in snow tubing must be 42-inches tall, and those under 12-years-old need to be accompanied by an adult. Tubing sessions start at $25 per person for two hours, and special group rates are available. Customers can purchase and reserve tickets online or by calling.
