Recognizing Kids & Families Who Volunteer: The NYMetroParents Caring Kids Awards

This time of year, as Thanksgiving and the December holidays approach, many of us think about helping others and giving back to our communities. If your child or your whole family does community service or volunteer work, we want to hear from you! Caring breeds caring, and we here at NYMetroParents are hoping to encourage others to do good in their community and create a culture of giving back.

After all, kids are often rewarded for dance or sports, so why not reward for them for contributing to the greater good? By entering, you and you family can continue the good work that you do and help raise awareness of the causes you support. 

NYMetroParents launched this project as a way to promote positive initiatives and to help teach children early on that everyone can and should give back. With all the negative stuff in the news we felt it was our duty to show how easy it is to make a difference and create a lasting family memory.

Here are the details:

Enter the NYMetroParents Caring Kids Awards and eight lucky winners will each receive a $500 gift card and a letter of commendation. Whether they spend time feeding homeless people, making seniors smile, cleaning and beautifying parks, tutoring other kids, raising money for great causes, or participating in any other community service work, submit your story and tell us how your and/or your kids make a difference!
