This tutoring service is now offering a free, remote learning program called Virtual School Day, which includes live, online classes and education resources to help parents fill their kids' days with enriched learning and to prevent students from sliding academically during school cancelations. Virtual School day provides 20 hours of free, live online instruction each week. Each class is led by an expert tutor with age appropriate options for grades K-12. Classes refresh weekly.
New Jersey Center for Teaching & Learning
This nonprofit created by teachers provides free, complete courses with everything your child needs to learn K-12 math, science, and computer science effectively. Resources work for any schedule in the form of downloadable K-12 courses, online self-study courses, and individualized support.
Reading Eggs is currently offering 30 free days of its fun, interactive, and comprehensive learning program. In addition, it has hundreds of free worksheets to keep kids proactive. Lessons are taught through games and build on what kids already know about reading for ages 2-13 years.
Everyday from 2-11pm, students in early elementary through high school can get online homework help from one-on-one tutors in English and Spanish. Video content and other resources is also available 24 hours a day. Tutoring is available in math (basic skills through Calc II), science, reading/writing, social studies, foreign language, ESL, essay writing and feedback, and academic skills buidling.
Lincoln Center Pop-Up Classroom
Every weekday at 2pm, tune into the Lincoln Center Facebook Live for a livestream of creative learning activities led by some of the world's best artists and educators. Each activity utilizes materials you can find at home to help families explore a variety of art forms.
Digital Resources and Games for at-Home Learning
Try a free, 50-minute trial class of Codeverse's virtual, highly-engaging, personalized online coding sessions. 50-minute virtual lessons are video-based and taught by expert guides. Kids ages 6-13 can learn to code, build apps and games, and even get featured on the Codeverse App Store. Plus, you’ll get fun coding kits mailed to your home.
This free coding challenge for ages 8-18 is a 21-day virtual event in which aspiring coders can complete 21 levels of Python and JavaScript challenges with one final "boss level" where participants write code. The levels aim to teach coding and reinforce skills that young coders already have learned.
White House Historical Association
The While House Historical Association is now offering virtual education resources from over 100 presidential sites across the country. This includes resource packets, reading lists, virtual tours of the White House, short explainer videos, historical essays, and a digital library of White House and presidential images for learners of all ages.
