Fleet Week 2019's Schedule of Events Has Been Announced

Fleet Week 2019's Schedule of Events Has Been Announced

Fleet Week will be from May 22-28 this year.

This years Fleet Week will honor the Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard with a weeklong celebration of the sea services beginning May 21. Active ships recently deployed overseas will dock in New York Harbor so the crew can enjoy festivities and the public can meet representatives, learn about the services, tour ships, watch helicopter landings, attend ceremonies and celebrations, and more. The festivities begin with a parade of ships and conclude on May 28 with their departure. More than 4,500 service men and women will be arriving on the fleet.

Ships will dock in Manhattan at Piers 88 and 86, at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, and in Staten Island at Homeport Pier. In all of these locations the ships will be open to the public for tours. The participating vessels include five U.S. Navy ships, three U.S. Coast Guard cutters, four U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) Yard Patrol boats (YPs), one Military Sealift Command ship, and two Royal Canadian Navy vessels.

Along with the tours, there will be several other events as part of the celebration, including Navy Band concerts in multiple locations, the Freedom Run, a music festival, events in partnership with Citi Field, Navy Dive Tank, and, of course, the Helicopter Landing at Miller Place (pictured above). This year will be Fleet Week's 31st year in New York City.
