Westchester Dance Studio Now Offers Open Play Sessions

This past September, East Pointe Dance introduced an indoor open play room for children ages 4 months to 4 years old. Sessions run 55 minutes long and cost $10 – cash only. Children must be supervised by their caregivers at all times.

East Pointe Dance or EPD was started when owner, Alyse Keyser had an unexpected opportunity to open a studio. She had taught at many studios in the Westchester area and was excited when her dream of owning her own studio became a reality. EPD opened in March 2014.

EPD offers ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and tap. Their ballet instructors are ABT Certified with a Masters degree in teaching, “which means we have studied ballet pedagogy, know how to teach it, and are qualified to do so,” Keyser says. Also, according to Keyser, EPD is, “One of the few studios in the area who offer a full length ballet production at the end of the year.”

Keyser says, “EPD prides themselves on introducing each student to the art of dance, instructs students how to properly move their bodies correctly, focusing on coordination and proper body alignment and inspire our students to excel in dance and life.”
