The Clover Hill School in Norwalk Celebrates Its 10th Year

The Clover Hill School, a Waldorf school for preschool and kindergarten-age children based in Norwalk, CT, was once only an idea brought up in a Stamford church meeting room. This year, it celebrates its 10th anniversary.

In 2004, a dedicated group of people fulfilled their long-held vision to create a school in lower Fairfield County, CT inspired by Waldorf Education. Waldorf Education is the play-based educational philosophy founded in 1919 by Rudolf Steiner: philosopher, scientist, and spiritual thinker.

Starting from a Stamford church meeting room, The Clover Hill School has grown and moved to its current campus in Norwalk with renovated classrooms and a private play yard. The school’s mission is to develop the whole child, including the head, the heart, and the hands, while instilling a love of learning, self-confidence, and respect for others.

The school offers two primary programs, including a Mixed Age Kindergarten for students ages 3-6 that focuses on freedom to play and healthy movement. This program helps creates the foundation for academic achievement in grade school. Full day and half day options for three or five days per week are available. The school also offers Parent & Child Classes that are designed for moms, dads, and caregivers to meet the developmental needs of children ages 2 months to 3 years. Mothers-to-be are also welcome.

The Clover Hill School offers a green environment and provides snacks consisting of organic and low-allergen foods.
