EARLY CHILDHOOD & ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
Long Island Lutheran Day School at St. Paul’s (LuDay) mission is to foster children in a Christ-centered environment, helping them to become confident lifelong learners.
Conveniently located on the North Shore of Suffolk County, our East Northport campus services our youngest students, from age two through fifth grade. LuDay offers an outstanding early childhood and elementary program that combines challenging academics with a caring and nurturing faith-based environment. The result is a dynamic learning community that fosters self-confidence and independence while promoting each child’s enthusiasm for learning.
Our facilities include well-equipped, stimulating classrooms, a full-sized gymnasium, two outdoor playgrounds, and a S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Lab.
WHAT MAKES LUDAY SPECIAL?
INDEPENDENT AND WELL ROUNDED PRE-SCHOOL & ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM
Our low student-to-teacher ratio allows teachers to have a more holistic approach to educating each student. Our project-based initiatives and hands-on activities encourage thinking and reasoning, preparing students far more than a standardized, test-driven curriculum can. Our school’s commitment to Fine and Performing Arts makes our S.T.E.A.M. Program stand out in front of other STEM Programs that overlook the importance of the arts.
INNOVATIVE AND CEATIVE TEACHERS
Our teachers love kids. The majority of our faculty have been a part of the LuDay family for more than 10 years, and our staff’s excitement and commitment to the mission of the school shows each and every day through meaningful and engaging learning activities.
ESTABLISHING TIMELESS VALUES
Spirituality builds character & develops critical life skills. LuDay teaches children that each individual is special and a child of God. Bible stories, songs, prayers, and community service projects foster leadership, citizenship, and compassion building leaders of our future.
SETTING THEM UP FOR SUCCESS
Our Kindergarten through Grade 5 program meets or exceeds New York State curriculum standards in all areas. An emphasis on strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills ensures each student is challenged and working to their individual ability. Lutheran Day School students are well prepared for academic success in middle school. The extensive use of classroom technology encourages innovative teaching processes that keep students actively engaged in hands-on learning including the 1:1 iPad program in the fourth and fifth grades.
The elementary experience is enhanced by the fine arts; chorus and band performances and school theatrical productions. Which afford the opportunity for public speaking and leadership.
HALF & FULL DAY PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS
We incorporate STEAM as much as possible at a young age to have students build their critical thinking skills. Allowing our 3 year olds to have access to the STEAM lab not only builds their confidence, learning how to problem solve, but sets the foundation for inquiry based learning in the years to come as they progress to higher levels of learning.
EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM
An extended care program is available in the morning, beginning at 6:30am, and after school until 6:00pm.
Preschool students can also enjoy fun and friendship in a supervised setting in our midday “Lunch Bunch” program 11:30 am- 12:30pm.
