#GivingTuesday Wonder Girls Volunteer Day
Join WONDER GIRLS, for their monthly VOLUNTEER DAY at the Nyack Center in Rockland County. This event is open to girls in middle and high school. Girls under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent/ guardian. Space is limited to 15 girls.
On Giving Tuesday and in partnership with Goya Cares, a global initiative to combat child trafficking, help create care packages for the holiday season that will include friendship bracelets and letters/cards. The gifts will be sent to girls who live in orphanages in Mexico and Costa Rica. Sadly, many of these girls have been victims of child trafficking, domestic violence, and abuse. The gifts from Wonder Girls will provide hope, love, and words of support.
The girls will also learn about child trafficking in the US and abroad, online poaching, and ways to protect themselves both online and in unsafe environments. They will also learn about the many organizations that help victims of child trafficking including the coalition of organizations that were created by Goya Cares, an initiative established by Goya Foods, the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States.
Space is limited. Masks are required.
