It's time to (finally) say goodbye to 2020 with your family! Here are events throughout New York and ones you can tune into from the comfort of your home to help you ring in 2021 in the most fun way possible during a pandemic.  

Celebrate New Year's Online

ONLINE New Year's Eve Times Square Ball Drop
WHEN: Dec. 31-Jan. 1, 2021, 6pm
WHERE: Times Square - Online
WHAT: Each year, millions of viewers watch the Times Square Ball Drop from NYC and around the globe, and this year, for the first time ever, the event will be televised only with the traditional ball drop, live performances and special guests to be announced.

Arcade Age Exhibit - December Break Activities

WHERE: Cradle of Aviation Museum, Charles Lindbergh Blvd, Garden City
WHAT: Back by Popular Demand- not only can you play the arcade classics, but the exhibit tells the story of video arcade games; from the pioneers in the early 40s and 50s to the golden age in the late 70s and early 80s to its crash, revival and ultimate decline in the 90s. The exhibit tells the story of the creative and innovative people who explored groundbreaking technologies, the games that sprung from their ingenuity and a culture that was shaped by their developments.... complete with over 50 unforgettable playable favorites like Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Space Invaders, Centipede, Donkey Kong and more. • Masks required • Gloves required (and supplied) • Limited entry to maintain social distance • Machines are cleaned in between each session

Fishes & Wishes New Year's Eve Dinner
WHEN:

WHERE: Long Island Aquarium, 431 East Main Street, Riverhead
WHAT: Bring the family to the Long Island Aquarium’s annual Fishes & Wishes New Year’s Eve Dinner. This family-style feast includes four courses plus complimentary beer and wine, a penguin appearance, fireworks on the riverfront and a mock midnight toast. Reservations required. All prices plus tax.

First Day Hike and Beach Clean-up

WHAT: Start the New Year off right with some exercise and a good cause. Join the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society for a small group, social distanced beach walk while helping local marine life by monitoring for cold-stunned sea turtles and helping up pick up beach trash.
