A show that’s equal measures hilarious, educational and deeply personal. NYC based scientist turned stand-up comedian Ben Miller takes you on a journey that explores everything from milk to thermodynamics with a wit and humor that makes these topics both approachable and delightful. And you probably like that sort of thing, nerd.

NOTE: This event is PG-13 and not for all kids. However, it is frequently attended and enjoyed by parents and their teenagers. There’s no swearing or anything too explicit, but some mature references.

Overtures: Minas with Orlando & Patricia King Haddad FREE

WHAT:

Bring the kids out to this free concert featuring, a Philadelphia-based bossa nova jazz band consisting of singer and guitarist Orlando Haddad and singer and pianist Patricia King.

Haddad is noted for bringing Brazilian music and culture to the city of Philadelphia, PA when he and his wife Patricia, after living in Brazil, moved back from Rio de Janeiro to the U.S. in 1984. Minas has performed in all of the area’s main venues and Orlando taught Brazilian Percussion at the University of the Arts, a post he held for 10 years. Minas also created an educational program, “Brazilian Adventure”, which brought assembly programs and residencies to public and independent schools in the tri-state area. This program has been seen by over 500,000 students.

Unveil a myriad of dark secrets and come face to face with some of the most magnificent monsters and terrifying beasts ever to walk the earth. Discover the colossal Stone Troll, the mysterious Indrik and Japanese Baku; the Tooth Fairy (not as sweet as you'd think), an adorable Unicorn and majestic Griffin. Take your place among legendary heroes, but just don't wake the Dragon.
