Sachdev Family Orthodontics Has Its Grand Opening

Sachdev Family Orthodontics had it’s grand opening on Jan. 20, and opened to patients on Feb. 8 of this year. The office is equipped with high tech features such as the brand new iTero Intraoral Scanner.

Rather than making dental impressions of patients’ mouths using stock trays and “gooey” impression paste, the iTero scanner takes a 3D scan of the patient’s mouth, allowing orthodontists to make adjustments to the image in real time and then send it out for processing.

“This scanner helps me in the sense that everything is digital, even patient records,” says Ameeta Sachdev, DMD, owner of Sachdev Family Orthodontics.

One of the main advantages to the iTero Intraoral Scanner is the ability to give patients a rough idea of what their mouth would look like after treatment, according to Dr. Sachdev. The scan can then be processed immediately to Invisalign. As someone who likes to conserve space, the digital records help to keep Dr. Sachdev’s office neat and organized.

Besides Invisalign, metal and ceramic braces are other treatment options available.

The Sachdev Family Orthodontics office is a wide, open space and contemporary design, created by Dr. Sachdev herself. There is even a wall dedicated to artwork done by the local community, where anyone of any age can come in and hang up their masterpieces.

“I like smiling. The first thing that draws me to people is if they are smiling when they talk to me,” says Dr. Sachdev on why she wanted to be an orthodontist. “I like the fact that in orthodontics it gives you the power to move teeth- the bones, the soft tissue, as you’re doing it you’re molding the face. It seems so fascinating.”

Dr. Sachdev says that her number one concern with her practice is working on giving personal attention to her patients, making them feel welcome and comfortable, and, of course—to smile more often.

“I just feel that there are not a lot of people who can’t smile freely. I like to make them confident,” Dr. Sachdev says.
