Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play Recalled Due to Reports of Infant Deaths

Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play Recalled Due to Reports of Infant Deaths

The inclined sleeper has been recalled by Fisher-Price due to the potential for death if the infant is unrestrained and old enough to roll over.

Fisher-Price has issued a voluntary recall of all units of the Rock n' Play Sleeper due to reports of death when infants can roll over in the product. The CPSC is aware of 10 infant deaths in the Rock 'n Play since 2015 as a result of infants rolling from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained. All 10 infants were 3 months or older. The CPSC warns consumers to always use restraints in infant inclined sleep products.

On April 5, CPSC recommended users stop using the product once infants can roll over. However, due to repeated questions about the sleeper, Fisher-Price, in partnership with the CPSC, now advises users to stop using the Rock 'n Play Sleeper immediately and to contact Fisher-Price for a refund or a voucher.

Both the CPSC and Fisher-Price would like to remind consumers to create safe sleep environments for infants whether it is in a crib, bassinet, play yard, or inclined sleeper. Never add blankets, pillows, stuffed toys, or other items to the sleeping environments and always place infants to sleep on their backs, according to the CPSC.
