Bach to Rock Opens in Nanuet

Bach to Rock, a music education center for all ages, opened in Nanuet in April.

Bach to Rock in Nanuet has three band rooms, a recording studio, five lesson rooms, a DJ instruction room, and a big performance space.  

“It’s a fairly large space and all the equipment is already here," says Eric Philo, owner of Bach to Rock in Nanuet.

Bach to Rock in Nanuet offers individual lessons and group classes such as Rock Band, which places students into bands to play popular songs.

"Kids are motivated to play things they know and like," Philo says. "So we put kids together in bands, they learn to play together, sometimes make up their own music, and we take them out on the road to play local street fairs."  

The music education center also offers DJ classes. It has six advanced DJ stations with two turntables each, and state-of-the-art software. 

There are plenty of early childhood offerings for younger musicians as well, such as Rock City, a weekly class for preschoolers that ties together musical concepts, instruments, and storybooks. There's also Rock n Roll, a weekly music and movement class for toddlers, in which toddlers and a parent or caregiver get to move around to music, engage in sing-alongs, explore age-appropriate instruments, and more.

Bach to Rock in Nanuet also offers birthday party packages that can include karaoke and a rock band theme as well as a variety of weeklong summer music camps.
