    Mother's Day Fun in Manhattan

    Celebrate Mother's Day in Manhattan with these fun family events. Bring mom to brunch or a concert, impress her by learning your manners, or take a tour of a Mother's Day-themed museum exhibit.

     

    There’s a lot going on to celebrate moms this month. We could joke about how mothers deserve to be commemorated every day of the year (which is true!) or we could skip straight to the part where we point you in the right direction for some Mother’s Day fun:

     

    May 10 or 12

    Manners Prep

    Get a head start on the celebratory weekend (and tip your hat to National Etiquette Week) with a Manners for Mother’s Day class by socialsklz:-). Kids learn mealtime manners and host/guest etiquette, then make a mini-meal and a surprise for mom.

     

    May 12

    Honor Mother Earth

    Author Vanessa Valencia and book artist Edith Rojas will read from their new book, Mamma’s Planet Earth, and lead eco-friendly activities. FREE!

    Tuneful Treat



    Skip breakfast in bed and bring Mom out to brunch. At Tunes with Tina at The Bar on Fifth at The Setai Fifth Avenue, award-winning jazz pianist and songwriter Tina deVaron hosts a lively sing-a-long while guests choose between the “little prix fixe” menu and the “big prix fixe” menu.

     

    Kudos to the Ladies

    After brunch, head up Fifth Avenue to Second Sunday Family Tour: Women of the Guggenheim. In honor of Mother’s Day, the museum will host a tour focused on women that incorporates conversation and creative hands-on gallery activities. Registration required.

     

    Ukulele Love

    Brooklyn musician Amelia Robinson performs original, quirky, and whimsical songs about moms on her electric ukulele and is joined by a cast of musical guests for Mil’s Trills Collective Moms Celebration, part of the BYOK concert series at 92Y Tribeca.
